IMMMA Advocates has a vibrant intellectual property practice which advises on all areas of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property law, including protection, enforcement and commercialization. We handle transaction work on all areas of intellectual property law including copyright, patents and trademarks. 

Our team is experienced in handling both local and regional trade mark portfolios and can assist in trademark filing, clearance and opposition, passing off claims and the drafting and negotiation of licensing agreements.

Experience has included advising:

  • Various clients on preparation and registration of trade and service marks. The work includes conducting an official search to ascertain if there is no similar name, preparing an application for registration & trademark, presenting the application for registration and obtaining a certificate of registration.
  • Colgate-Palmolive Tanzania Limited on issues of trade & service marks and to fight counterfeit goods in the market
