Associate Trainee
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for our Associate Trainee Program, applicants should meet the following minimum criteria:
- Completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania and enrolled as an advocate.
- Hold a minimum Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ready to work in a highly competitive, demanding and challenging working environment.
- Believes in teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
As an Associate Trainee, you will:
- Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and other documents.
- Review and analyze legal briefs on behalf of clients.
- Prepare pleadings and other necessary court documents.
- Assist partners, directors and senior associates with ongoing legal matters, both locally and internationally.
- Advise clients on company formation, annual returns, and tax filing matters.
- Handle follow-ups at various registries.
- Create presentations and legal alerts on relevant legislative or regulatory updates.
- Assist in legal research and offer support in significant legal cases.
- Collaborate with the team to discuss legal strategies and contribute to their development.
- Other duties as will be assigned from time by the supervising partner/director/senior associate
Duration
- The programme lasts a maximum of two (2) years.
